The pink dress is shibori dyed silk and the robe is silk organza with embroidery details:
I made it for my "Art and Artifact" class, where we went to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house and got to choose anything we wanted as inspiration for our piece. I picked this 17th century French dressing table:
This table is so beautiful! The top opens up where there's a mirror and compartments hold powder for wigs.
This table comes from the time of Marie Antoinette, who was was an inspiration for many of my pieces last semester.
My dad bought me this vintage Singer machine at an estate sale this weekend for a late birthday present! Thank you THANK YOU dad, and also thank you for helping me carry it up/down all those stairs! Ugh so heavy.
I registered for my fall classes this morning and I am so excited! For my first semester of my senior year at College for Creative Studies I'll be taking:
1.History of Fashion
3.Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing
4.Pattern Design and Computer Imaging
5.Crafts Major Studio
As usual, I'm dreading the end of summer but it's not so bad with classes like these to look forward to!
Hello! My name is Bridget Sullivan and I'm studying fiber arts and fashion design at the College for Creative Studies. This fall I'll start my senior year and I'm going to use this blog to document it, all leading up to my senior show in the spring. Right now I don't know what I'm going to do for my show yet, so this will be a place for my ideas and inspirations, and whatever else happens along the way...so let's start the show!
